This project focused on developing skills in photography, Photoshop, and InDesign through composition building that utilizes the Elements and Principles of Art. The main goal of the project was to create a visually interesting photo booklet with spreads that portray the theme of "Truth and Lies".
My process started with darkness, material, and horror movies. Throughout my transition from childhood into adulthood, I realized that true darkness is not the monsters under your bed. Horror movies are intentionally crafted to portray fear, but the resulting sensation of fear is a synthetic lie. The true fears of the world seep from the places and people you

Women have always played an important, nurturing role in my life. They are frequently portrayed throughout creation as mothers, caretakers, lovers, and caring beings. I wanted to challenge the portrayal and gender roles of women by creating a booklet that juxtaposes fear and femininity.

This project started as juxtaposition, but the finished project also portrays commentary on body image and body dysmorphia.
